“I Like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ.” Gandhi (English)

It is known that a good way of receiving help is by asking for help. Many times we are so given, submerged into our everyday thoughts and as such, to our church organizations, our religious views, a particular political group, a country of origin, our own philosophies, our culture and even a small circle of friends to such extreme that we often forget about Jesus himself and about his way of living and to live like him. We often think that being a Christian is solely identified by attending a church service, by owning a bible, by having parents who attend church, or just because one acknowledges that God exists.

So, what makes a Christian? If we asked countries in the Middle East, Africa, or Asia; they would respond that many innocent people from their countries have died in the name or Christ, but note this; the answer is not for the cause of Christ, but by the hands of some who profess to act on his name.

The truth of the matter is that those called Christians, the religious Christians, took on the name of Christ to act as judges on earth and the same ones condemn others unless they are on their side, belief what they say and stay within their parameters. Now, let us consider the opinion of Jesus himself and how he answered to a question raised by a religious leader during his time.

Mathew 22:36-40
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Now, if you wanted to present Jesus how would you present him? The best way will always be through one’s personal testimony. Jesus did command us to be his followers and as such do as he did. He did not say we will reach perfection like he did on earth, but we can try to be more like him each day until the day we see him face to face through his grace and holiness.

Many times, the same believers of Jesus Christ are the same ones who butcher his name and the reputation of real gospel of God and don’t allow non believers to meet Jesus and receive salvation because of our doing, our behavior and above all, the lack of God’s love reflecting in our lives. If we need help knowing Jesus, living like him and living a life up to his standards, we must ask for help. The only thing we need to do is seek help from Jesus himself.

Let the peace of Jesus Christ be with you all.
